Bob While traveling the world, came to love not only the sublime pleasure to be found in a great cup of coffee, but the romance, history, and culture surrounding the world's coffee rituals. Entered the coffee world in 1992 as a Roaster/Barista. Since then Bob has pulled tens of thousands of espressos, roasted millions of pounds of coffee, met some amazing people, and fully indulged his java jones.

Carmen found her love of great coffee while studying Spanish in the mountains of Mexico following graduate school. In the charming colonial village of San Miguel de Allende she relied on the beans grown locally to get her through the long nights of study. Back in the U.S. she quickly realized that in order to continue to get her high quality fix she would have to take drastic measures - so she "Got Wicked" and has never gone a day without great coffee since! Can't keep her hands off Bob. It's embarrassing.
Jack, a graduate of Virginia Tech, and a true southern gentleman. 5’10”, hazel eyes, dreamy, with a bit of a southern drawl – and single for all you ladies out there. When recruited to work at Wicked Joe, Jack wasn’t sure what was in store for him up north, but he is enjoying life in Maine and adjusting well to life surrounded by New Englanders. When not consuming excessive amounts of coffee Jack can be found hanging with his mensa pals, playing disc golf, and listening to Black Crowes, Radiohead, or Yanni.
Bryden, or "meat" as we call him here at WJ HQ, has until recently been more of a herbal tea/wine cooler sort of fellow. Now that we've got our hooks in him though, he see's the error of his ways and emphatically renounces any allegiance to his previous beverages. As I'm sure you can guess - we're mighty proud of him up here at HQ. Bryden is a living embodiment and validation of Wicked Joe Principle #22 - that even the most lowly wretch can be rehabilitated and set again on a more righteous and tasty path. Greatest ambition - to one day answer the question that has puzzled him for years - who was the greater talent......Milli, or Vanilli?

Our mission
is to roast and provide to our customers epic coffee, and to do it in a manner that is kind to both the earth and to the farmers who painstakingly grow our tasty beans.  We only sell sustainable coffees that are Certified Fair Trade Organic, Bird Friendly, Shade Grown or by the Rainforest Alliance.  What we really come to work for every day, though, is the sublime pleasure we get from a truly great cup of coffee. We’ve been roasting the world’s tastiest coffees for over 15 years, and we still can’t get enough of the good stuff!

We may have learned and honed our craft on the west coast, but now we do all our roasting on the banks of the Androscoggin River in Brunswick, Maine where “vacationland” meets the stunning, island-studded Casco Bay, and we only use Maine Clean Power Plus Energy when we roast. Maybe that’s  why our coffee tastes so clean, fresh, and delicious. At Wicked Joe our work begins when we select our green coffees.

We choose our green beans based on quality (taste) alone. Coffee roasting is part art and part science. Each of our coffees is unique and our goal is to bring out the qualities that make each bean special. The differences are sometimes striking, sometimes subtle, yet always marvelous. To do this, we keep a separate roast profile (exact criteria for the time, temperature, and airflow changes to occur at different points during a roast) for each individual coffee. We then cup and taste every batch of beans we roast to ensure quality. Wicked Joe roasts all of our coffees on unconventional air convection roasters.

As a result, Wicked Joe has a delightfully sweet aroma and a distinct, clean taste that is true to its exotic origin. Our single origin exotics, blends, decafs, and flavors are all exceptional. We bust our butts putting out the tastiest coffees around so you can sit back on yours and enjoy them. So kick back, relax and savor your Wicked good cup of Joe.

Coffee should be black as hell, strong as death and sweet as love. -Turkish Proverb/Wicked Joe Philosophy
